Our strategic plan to further self reliance of the unhoused persons that we serve is based on Culinary services and its revenue.
The founder of Steven's Home has 15 years of experience as an executive chef, She was hired to consult and create a culinary program with IECC, and she then went on as an adjunct college instructor for that program.
God began a different plan for her life in late 2021 and the inception of Steven's Home was slowly put into motion. She is able to marry homeless street outreach and culinary towards a much larger goal of giving the unhoused, marketable, and employable job skills and certification.
The first phase of the plan begins with In-Home Chef Services and will be expanded to include job training and employment opportunities for the unhoused persons that we serve.

If there is a need, there is a solution. Putting good people together for mutual benefit is the best answer. As the first granddaughter of two WWII Veterans, I see retaining Nada for an event as simply one way of #humanstakingcareofhumans.

I heard one of my adult children say this at our last Thanksgiving meal. Hiring Nada to do the cooking in my home was a stretch, something new, and not something I entrusted to another person very lightly. My husband and I were called out of town and we were not able to return home until the night before Thanksgiving. This meant no time for meal prep or an exhausted Nonna by the end of the Holiday.
With the meal served, the cleanup complete, and 16 happy family members around the table, Nada left us for my first Thanksgiving meal unencumbered by duty. A delicious delight!

I was confident in my decision at Thanksgiving because I had attended a meal with friends that was catered by Nada. From appetizers to dessert each course was professionally presented, prepared with a freshness you cannot get in restaurants; and most importantly the meal was scrumptious.
This Professional Chef Service allowed the 8 couples around the table to fully enjoy each other's company and to have fully involved conversations. It also gave me the courage to invite Nada to my place of work to present samplings.

Although we have not had an occasion at work that required catering, there was a co-worker who was looking for in-home meals due to a medical condition that made some tasks difficult. When she tasted the samples brought in, she asked for a meeting with Nada. I don't know much about their arrangement, but I do know that a great burden has been lifted from my friend. I know too, that the connection filled an ongoing need and that my coworker is really pleased with the results.

We are NOT grant funded and rely solely on community donations and sales of our culinary line of “this & that” food items which are approved by the Health Department license number 2023-172.
Our executive director & owner was an executive chef and holds current sanitation and food safety certifications, including food allergens.
